For two days, the editorial team was the first magazine in the world to have the opportunity to test the HR 342 extensively. A lot depends on the yacht for Hallberg-Rassy. It should secure the shipyard's capacity utilisation and attract new buyers.
She has what it takes. There is practically no other boat currently on the market that combines as many sometimes contradictory characteristics as the successor to the HR 34, which was produced for 15 years.
The new 342 proved to be compact in the test, but surprisingly spacious below deck; it sailed fast and high even in light and medium winds, and yet behaved very seaworthy and safe on all courses.
The price, which is double that of boats from large-scale production, also seems reasonable in view of the performance and the very high-quality equipment.
You can find all the data, measurements and the detailed, eight-page report in the new issue of YACHT (on newsstands from today, Wednesday 27 July).
